In-app updates
Section titled “In-app updates”The app checks for updates and offers to install them. Accepting downloads the new version, installs it, and relaunches.
Release channels
Section titled “Release channels”| Channel | What it is |

| Stable | Normal releases — 0.1.1, 0.2.0. What you want. |
| Preview | Pre-release builds, marked with a PREVIEW badge in the app. |
You can tell which one you are on from the app itself: a preview build says so. Version numbers with a pre-release suffix are previews; plain three-part versions are stable.
Stay on stable unless we have specifically asked you to test something.
Air-gapped or restricted machines
Section titled “Air-gapped or restricted machines”If the analysis machine has no internet access, the updater cannot reach us — and the product still works fine, because analysis is entirely local.
Tell us if this is your situation — email support@cytogence.com and we will send download links directly rather than leaving you on a channel that cannot check.
To update manually, download the new installer on a machine that does have access, verify the checksum, transfer it, and install over the top. Your workspaces and license are preserved.
If an update fails
Section titled “If an update fails”- Note the version you are on (Help → About Cytogence).
- Download the installer directly — see Install — and install over the existing version.
- If it keeps happening, Help → Report an Issue with the version number.
Installing over the top is safe. It does not touch your workspaces or your license.
