Install Cytogence FCS

Written against v0.1.2. Download links and checksums are per-release; the checksums below are only valid for 0.1.2.

Installers are served from releases.cytogence.com, not from GitHub. Pick the one for your platform:

Platform File
Windows (installer) Cytogence FCS_0.1.2_x64-setup.exe
Windows (MSI) Cytogence FCS_0.1.2_x64_en-US.msi
macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon) Cytogence FCS_0.1.2_universal.dmg

Already running an earlier version? You do not need this page — the app checks for updates itself and will offer 0.1.2. See Updates.

Either Windows download works. Use the .exe unless your IT department deploys software by MSI, in which case use the .msi.

The macOS build is universal — one download for both Intel and Apple Silicon.

Worth doing once, especially if IT is going to ask. Compare the checksum of your downloaded file against the value below.

Windows (PowerShell):

Terminal window
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 "$HOME\Downloads\Cytogence FCS_0.1.2_x64-setup.exe"

macOS:

Terminal window
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/"Cytogence FCS_0.1.2_universal.dmg"

Expected values for v0.1.2:

File SHA-256
..._x64-setup.exe e6ed466a2fbfd1c4a30857b36e16f0dbe0e12cdac5c18c5142e38ad901dd042e
..._universal.dmg a479dbcd4e96dc7dbda4f55441db54bf728a17d484b09703d1db5dc6d2c884f5
..._x64_en-US.msi 9d69be5d629ad383d4aaae52a2843e4b78eb160498ef5a514bebeae6d891abd8

If a checksum does not match, do not install it — re-download, and if it still does not match, tell us.

  1. Run the downloaded .exe.
  2. You will probably see a Windows SmartScreen warning — see below.
  3. Follow the installer.

Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” or “Publisher unknown” for installers it has not seen often enough yet, even when they are correctly signed. Cytogence FCS is signed; SmartScreen reputation accrues with install volume, and a new product has not accrued it yet.

To proceed: click More info, then Run anyway.

If your organisation blocks unsigned-looking installers by policy, the MSI is usually the easier route for IT to approve, and we can supply the signing details on request.

  1. Open the .dmg.
  2. Drag Cytogence FCS to your Applications folder.
  3. Launch it from Applications.

The macOS build is signed and notarised, so Gatekeeper should not object. If it does — “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified” — that usually means the download was damaged; verify the checksum above before working around it.

On the first launch that finds no license, the app explains what works without one and offers a trial. You can open and explore data immediately, with no license and no account. See Licensing.

Analysis does not. File reading, gating, statistics, compensation, export and AI-1 all run locally.

Internet access is used for:

  • checking for updates,
  • the AI copilot, if you configure a cloud provider (a local model needs no network),
  • Help → Report an Issue.

If the analysis machine is air-gapped, the product still works. Tell us and we will send update links by email rather than relying on the in-app updater.
